Reigning Queen of Bondi

Our part-time pup is just about the most popular girl here in Bondi. Everywhere we go, she gets heaps of attention. The little thing asks for it, too. She holds her head confidently high and marches straight through a crowd just begging people to adore her.

Wednesday afternoon, Conor, Jess (Conor's sister), and I, all found ourselves with a few hours off. Jess hasn't spent a lot of time in Bondi, other than the beach, so we headed out to lunch with the pup in tow!

We posted up at Cafe North, a new little spot just steps away from my front door. They have tons of outdoor seating, perfect for our little princess.

Didn't take long before she was bathing in the usual adoration of her subjects...!

We sipped our coffees and chatted about our weekend plans - Conor and I fly to the Gold Coast this weekend! Funny story about the Gold Coast... A while back Conor told me he wanted to take a weekend holiday. He said to pick a place and we'll book it. Not a bad deal, right? At the time, there wasn't anywhere I had been dying to go to, and while perusing Facebook one day, I saw a picture of Surfers Paradise on my feed and thought, "That's perf!" The picture I saw looked something like this...

Looks cool right?! I reported back and we booked it the next day. After a few knowing looks from people when I mentioned we were heading to Surfers, I did a little more research. And whaddaya know, Surfers Paradise is like the Las Vegas of Australia. Major party town with a vibrant nightlife. On top of that, we realized that our trip coincides with "schoolies"... When you graduate school in Oz, you plan a big party trip with all your friends called Schoolies (drinking age is 18 here), and what do you reckon is the most popular Schoolies destination? That's right! Surfers Paradise, ha! So it's looking like our trip may be a little rowdier than expected! Anyway, though, we're still super excited!

It seemed everyone running the place at Cafe North was Italian and we were encouraged to come back for wine and Italian antipasto - an invitation that is not in my blood to turn down. We finished our food, walked her majesty back home, and scurried off back to work!
